Say hello to,

Hayden Sutherland

Hayden is a director and founder of Ideal Interface, who has been designing, building and implementing online solutions for over 15 years.

Hayden was involved in the early days of web development and was key in the implementation of one of the first global intranets ever launched. Researching the boundaries and possibilities of the web has been a hobby for Hayden as well as a career.

He decided to create Ideal Interface to provide a bespoke service in response to the needs of clients who required support beyond an ‘off the shelf’ online solution.

Hayden has hands-on experience at every stage from web strategy to post-implementation support. He is recognised for providing direction on practical implementation of digital best practice, specifically in the areas of web usability, user-centred design, agile development and social media implementation. His knowledge covers both strategic and technical expertise including the complete solution architecture. Hayden has provided targeted consultation on all forms of website testing from working with the RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind) to validate strict accessibility standards, through to creating and managing volume and performance scenarios to ensure client sites have remained stable even during their busiest periods.

The solutions that Hayden has developed would be applicable across the spectrum of industry, however his particular areas of specialism cover Financial Services, Retail and Travel & Tourism.

Hayden has previously held senior roles such as head of e-Business for P&O Ferries, Head of Project Management for a Top Ten UK Digital Agency, and Technical Director at several start-ups. Most recently, Hayden’s has been working on the implementation of a next generation ecommerce site for a leading high street retailer.

Hayden is recognised for having his finger on the pulse of digital media and its advancing practices. His blog, which investigates digital communication technologies and their use, has been critically acclaimed and quoted in areas such as Social Media publications and by other eminent ‘bloggers’ across the globe. He is involved in the research of exploiting social media philosophy to support the objectives of the corporate world.

Hayden does have a side to his life that is not online. He does not have much free time bringing up a young family but is a keen cyclist and has participated in a number of charity cycling events.
