Say hello to,

Marc Ames

Marc has been a marketer for over 15 years, and for over 10 of them he has been involved in digital and online marketing.

Despite (or maybe because of) a degree in Chemical Engineering, Marc joined NatWest on the marketing graduate training scheme gaining a broad range of experience in Market Research, PR, CRM, Customer Segmentation and Sponsorship.

His first experience of the digital world was working on a joint kiosk venture between NatWest and Thomas Cook, and then went on to project manage the UK’s first online share dealing service launched by NatWest Stockbrokers.

Caught by the digital bug, Marc has held several senior positions at NatWest and then RBS after the takeover, being involved in interactive TV, mobile applications as well as internet banking and the main web presences for RBS and NatWest.

He was Head of Online Marketing for the NatWest and RBS brands and also worked closely with the RBS subsidiary brands in UK, Ireland and Continental Europe.

His work has been recognised in the industry and been his shortlisted for many awards and he has won a Revolution, New Media Age and BIMA awards for his work with RBS and NatWest.

After leaving RBS, Marc has been engaged as an independent consultant, been Head of Content and Publishing for one of the UK’s top SEO agencies and helped developed a couple of internet start-up companies including a online shopping comparison site, before joining up with Hayden who he had worked with previously several years before when he was Account Director for the RBS account.

Marc is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and holds the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and the e-Marketing Award.

When online, Marc is very keen on tracing and finding out more on his family tree and offline is a very keen cricketer and has just qualified as a Level 1 ECB coach.
